Independent advisors aren’t affiliated with a bank, trust company, insurance company, investment products or family of funds proprietary products. Whatever your needs are, independent advisors have the freedom to choose from a wide range of options and tailor their advice to what is best for you.
What is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor®(CPWA®)?
A Certified Private Wealth Advisor® is an advanced professional certification for financial advisors who seek the latest, most advanced knowledge and techniques to address the sophisticated needs of high net worth clients. Unlike credentials that focus specifically on investing or financial planning, the CPWA program takes a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to a family and their financial life.It is accredited by the Investments and Wealth Institute®.
What is wealth management?
Wealth Management is an investment advisory discipline that incorporates financial planning, investment portfolio management, and other aggregated financial services. High net worth individuals, small business owners and families often call upon wealth managers to coordinate banking, estate planning, legal resources, tax professionals, and investment management.
How is the initial consultation handled?
There is no charge for the initial consultation. At the first meeting we will be trying to understand your individual situation to determine if we can help going forward. It isn’t uncommon for us to provide guidance or information in this first meeting and then conclude that you don’t need to hire us. If we think we can help longer term, we will outline our thoughts and ideas for you. We will treat you the way we would like to be treated and will only reconnect with you if you request follow up.
Are clients on a fee-based platform or a commission based platform?
Both. There are advantages and disadvantages to both platforms. As a general rule, our compensation growth is based on client’s asset growth.Most new clients contract us on a fee-based contract.
Do you have account minimums?
We don’t have account minimums, but we do feel we are able to offer the greatest assistance to clients with $100,000 to $5,000,000 of investable assets or $100,000+ in income.
What are some areas the team has experience in?
Our team has experience in many areas including investment management, investment manager selection, retirement income planning, social security planning, and insurance planning. From an investment and insurance perspective, we have experience in mutual funds, annuities, stocks, bonds, stock options, corporate and personal retirement plans, investment advisory accounts, trusts, life insurance, long term care insurance, 1031 exchanges, non traded Real Estate Investment Trusts, Reg. D (private placement) offerings, oil and gas investments, and master limited partnership offerings.
Will you work with my attorney and tax professional?
Yes. We frequently work with a client’s legal and tax experts.
How do we determine if Newton Financial Group, LLC. is the right fit for us?
The best way to find out if there is a fit is to discuss the matter in person. We provide full disclosure on all costs, what we can and cannot provide, and potential risks. We are low key and will never pressure you. You can expect us to be patient and willing to meet with multiple times to ensure we are the proper fit for you and your situation. You can expect us to respect you and your timetable in making decisions. If we don’t think we are a good fit for you, we will tell you.
Can you help with Long Term Care Insurance or Life Insurance?
Yes, we can help with insurance. We have three licensed agents in our office and frequently consult with a team of specialists at Brokerage Unlimited, Inc. in St Louis. For existing policies, we provide a detailed review and comparison of options. For those who might need insurance or additional insurance, we can help determine an appropriate benefit and structure for you and your family needs.
